It seems that way. I guess he may reappear if gold doesn't go to $900 and USDX 120

He will be back once the fireworks start. Probably marks the bottom of the correction. My mate sold out recently at a loss. I suppose it depends if you see it as investing or saving.

Trying to be an investor in these controlled markets is asking for trouble IMO. You never know when they will let the next shoe drop.

Investing used to mean that you were providing capital to help progress a project. More and more these days it is you are trying to outsmart the sucker on the other side, feels more like sitting down at a poker table.

No I'm still here, but with a massive restructuring at work we all might be losing our jobs, so I'm busy with other things at the moment.

I looked at the job market for the first time in nearly 18 years last week and I could potentially contract for 100K...

That would be nice, seems to be a lot of rearranging going on currently. It's almost like big business knows whats coming.

Yeh it would be nice, but there's not much security in a 3 month rolling contract, so I'm not sure if I'll ever be interested. I don't know if our company does... Can't quite understand why our new CEO thinks he can grow the business by a factor of 3 in the biggest recession since the great depression. We're losing 2 out of the 3 midlands offices and he wants a more prestigious office in Canary Wharf. He wants to attract bigger blue chip companies.

Once we get out of this financial mess I'll be all over it, you could pay off a house in a few years even at todays prices.

If you're a contractor you're just a resource, so I wouldn't expect any promotions as you're not part of their organisation, but who cares at those rates! If I can earn more than the PM I'd consider myself a success! :)
