Investing used to mean that you were providing capital to help progress a project. More and more these days it is you are trying to outsmart the sucker on the other side, feels more like sitting down at a poker table.
Yeh it would be nice, but there's not much security in a 3 month rolling contract, so I'm not sure if I'll ever be interested. I don't know if our company does... Can't quite understand why our new CEO thinks he can grow the business by a factor of 3 in the biggest recession since the great depression. We're losing 2 out of the 3 midlands offices and he wants a more prestigious office in Canary Wharf. He wants to attract bigger blue chip companies.
If you're a contractor you're just a resource, so I wouldn't expect any promotions as you're not part of their organisation, but who cares at those rates! If I can earn more than the PM I'd consider myself a success!
