Student Loans Company

Postby Capitalist_Pig » Sat Feb 19, 2011 2:12 am

I have been written to, by the SLC, demanding to know my current income situation as they have not been paid for a while as I am no longer an employee under PAYE system, nor am I self employed.

They requested I send them all current bank statements, savings, and any income statements.

What legal means do they have to obtain details other accounts not disclosed, such as sharedealing accounts, SB accounts, and possibly even bullion purchases where I have been made to provide my NI number (such as with ATS Bullion)?

Essentially, can I just provide them with a a single current account statement?

The accounts would show I have the means to pay the whole balance, which is the part that concerns me as they may insist on repying the entire balance.

P.s - I have never not paid anyone on time. But we live in a system which is designed by default to turn everyone into debt slaves, which taxes the s**t out of productivity, which is then used to socialise malinvestment losses made by the institutions. In these times, I reckon the wise thing to do is show as little assets on paper as possible if you can!
A lot of the time, the stock market is just like Tescos ... You just gotta find the value packs, reduced to clear, and buy one get one free offers!

Not sure of the conditions on student loans, I must be older as they weren't in when I went to college.

Have you got repayment terms for the loan? If not maybe ask them to send you one, all details of what you are liable for will be listed in the terms. I wouldn't want to advise you to do anything until seeing the conditions of the agreement.

Are you a earning from a ltd company where
1. You own the majority of the shares
OR
2. There are less than 5 shareholders

If so, I think you have to pay them. Speak to your accountant.

If not, how are you earning money?

I fit in to both of them as I own all of the shares in my little company. So I have had to pay up.
