@DCA from CID FAQs

Is it possible to pick up the coins in your office?

For security reasons we do not hold any stock at our London offices and we therefore cannot offer collection in the UK.

But we are happy to offer collection of goods from our vaulting partner Via Mat International near Frankfurt / Germany. If you are interested in picking up your orders please contact our customer service to make arrangements before placing your order.

When collection is arranged the German VAT rate of 7% is applied for silver. Please note that it is not possible to buy anonymously; your payment must be made in form of a bank transfer prior to the collection

I work a lot in London, often cycle past your offices in fact. Can I collect or deposit coins for purchase/sale at your offices?

I have never really trusted the mailing of coins through the UK postal system.

thanks
DCA

Hello, in order to collect, we would need you to organise a specific day so we could organise the shipping accordingly. Please bear in mind that we do not have any counter but contact us directly to organise any buy back to you may have.Thank you.

Dear CID
Thanks for the prompt reply.

Can you outline the type of posting you recommend for customers when posting coins to sell?

I make it £13.44 for royal mail special delivery of four 1 oz coins with insurance to £5000.

Hello, within the UK, Royal Mail works ok until they actually loose something, so the insurance is always good to take.
We usually use recorder next day delivery to make sure that any goods do not stay in a warehouse for too long.

Thank you for your reply. I'm quite untrusting of the Royal Mail if only because any gold coin return through them would represent a significant sum of money for me to risk going missing.

As customer feedback, it would be good if you published a clear and simple recommended way of returning coins through the post on your website.

Ideally, a coin drop off facility in London would work, and set you apaart from rivals such as HGM. I know there are security and possibly business tax implications to doing that, though.

Special delivery insured to reqd. amount

SD is treated separate from other mail, it is handled separately at the PO, it is held in a lock up/manned section of the postal depots, it has to be signed for by the postie before he takes charge of it, and can only be left if when he/she gets a signature at the delivery address, esp. flats in shared buildings

regardless of RM's other F' ups, SD is the DB

Agreed I have always received gold by special delivery and never had the slightest problem with it. Haven't sold any gold coins yet, but would probably take a trip up to London when I want to visit a dealer.

Thanks for the posts and reassurance on this - recorded delivery it will be in the future.

I have never sold any coins before, but probably will in the next year (life circumstances, not calling a top, nor trading) and so keen to explore the options

Should also post on here when you need to sell some, as you may find a buyer.

Deal All,

The past 2 weeks have seen our sales more than treble and nobody expected the dip in the gold and silver spot.

There was a big gold transaction from a Bank in the USA and many trader´s tracker were set on a certain price triggering even more gold purchase.
Parallel to this, Cyprus sold some gold and the state of Texas asked for its gold back from the central reserve (info to be verified)...

Not one single manufacturer expected this price plunge and even less the surge in demand.

This highlighted that the price of the goods you are buying are not only affected by the spot price, but also by the supply and demand.

We still believe that the precious metal is good way to protect your assets and that it can be a good investment!

Hello, we can say that the trend has reversed but there is still a big interest in precious metal.

Apparently, traders do not use gold as a refuge value and this is manipulating the market downwards.

Sill, governments seem to purchase gold reserve (South Korea, Soviet countries & Turkey) and we can observe that some countries try to implement some kind of restrictions, especially towards the countries that are not part of the trans-Atlantic bloc.

France has indeed passed a law that forbides people to send precious metal through the national post.

On the VAT subject about the silver coins, i have read a post about

Otherwise, we have always good opportunities, especially on large quantities on the Sovereign Edward 7.

Dear membres,

It has been a year now that we were welcomed in 24KNews and I am taking the opportunity to ask you all for feedbacks.

The market has changed dramatically this year as for the first time in six years, we have seen the gold price falling.

Another change is coming from Germany next year, as the VAT on the silver coins will increase to 19%.

Please feel free to provide me with any kind of insight about how you would like our company to help you purchasing your investment.

Hi

re. feedback, here's mine......

It's all about the VAT, and you have my sympathies here because I realise there you have very little control over this.

In terms of cust. service, i have always found cid 10/10. However, my modus operandi is too procure silver as cheaply as possible and therefore, this year i have been purchasing silver locally free of VAT (british coins pre-47).

I have also used ebay where bullion coins can be purchased from UK sellers where the VAT has already been paid.

if i can get it cheaper from you in the future, i will certainly be purchasing from you again and i applaud you for the great deals you are doing at the moment such as for silver maples.

Likewise to what TA has said above. I have bought 15 gold coins from you over the last year but have kept my silver buying to goldmoney (except for a couple of collectables) because of the VAT.

The gold coins I bought from you were delivered extremely quickly and the service was top quality.

Your service is very good but until you get rid of the 10% handling fee for silver sales to eec countries outside Germany excluding the UK I wont buy. I save on avg 70€ on 1kg coins buying locally. The bottom line is value for money
