The Platinum to gold ratio
A ratio of less than 0.75 is a single outlier that occurred once during the second half of 1982 when overall ratios averaged 0.81.
Ratios <0.85 are quite unusual at 4.7%. They occurred for two months in the first quarter of 1975, the aforementioned six months in 1982, in June-July of 1985, and for an ongoing run of 16 months that commenced in October 2015.
Ratios from 0.85 to 1.0 constitute 15.0% of the record.
Pt:Au from 1.0 to 1.25 is the most common range and comprises 34.7% of ratios since 1971.
The ratios between 1.25 and 1.5 occur 19.3% of the time.
Ratios from 1.5 to 2.0 make up 15.4% of the record.
The 2.0-2.5 interval covers 8.9% of the months in our compendium.

Currently we are sitting at 0.72
This could be a very good time to swap some gold to platinum

With the Ag/Au ratio at 80-1 gold is overpriced against silver and seems to be overpriced v platinum.
Can't comment on storage fees , not something that affects me :D

Current ratio is 0.67, that's the historical low, maybe time to get some CGT free platinum Britannia.
Goldsilverbelgium has along with its silver prices doing the best deals, gold can be bought elsewhere cheaper though

Looks an excellent moment to swap Pd to Pt:

Just sold my 1oz Pd Maples and bought a mix of 1 and 1/10oz Pt Britannias.
Current Pt to Pd ratio 0.79. Only been lower than that for 6months or so in the last 26yrs.
Lets see how this trade works out.

Pd/Pt ratio continues to increase. 1.29 seems near nose bleed territory but it doesn't have to reverse just because I'm talking about it :)

Pd/Pt ratio now at 1.33... I guess I was "early" aka wrong thus far.

Here's an interesting if long winded take on the rationale for switching from Pd to PT:

one day it will be (again) even if it gets back to parity with gold then there is a lot of upside here.

The current platinum to gold ratio is 0.57 , records going back to 1971 show it has never been this low indeed only once in 1982 did it hit 0.75 , most common ratio is between 1+ 1.25
https://www.kitco.com/commentaries/2017 ... atios.html I am reposting this link that shows the ratio history
Charts show it was more volatile than Au but did act as a store of value during the 2008 crisis , it's a bit like rich mans silver.
