You need to clear your DNS cache as the site has moved to new server;

It just means that your dns server still has the old address. It will update over the next 24 hours probably and then all will be fine.

Ah screw it. He's not likely to have un-banned me anyway :twisted: :lol:

Where is the dns server? Is it local to my computer or at my ISP or other?

What amazes me is, it's been difficult to use for 2-3 weeks, properly down for about a week. Both Pixel8r and I have offered full assistance which he wasn't even gracious enough to acknowledge and then when it blows up, he wants to sell up and claims it's because the site is being attacked... Bizarre!

I bet you could have that site functioning within a couple of hours...

Full marks Warpig, it only took 2 hours to fix.

Hopefully after spending a bit of time here they will realise that 24k is a good site. :)

Can someone do me a favour please. Go here and tell me what's happening

I do intend to use the information to take the pee out of DrBubb so PM it to me (or email) and I won't tell anyone who gave it to me.

Got it, thanks.

I think DrBubbs attempt to get money is a bit of a low shot. He tells people the site only makes enough ad revenue to cover the costs; yet he values GEI at 10,000!

The EPS is zero
PE ratio is infinity
And the yield is zero.

I might just stick to clawing at the sky.

Just tried to logon to GEI and got the below;

Bandwidth Limit Exceeded

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to the site owner reaching his/her bandwidth limit. Please try again later.
Apache/2.2.16 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.16 OpenSSL/0.9.7a mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 PHP/5.2.14 Server at http://www.greenenergyinvestors.com Port 80

It appears that GEI still needs to sort their server problems properly.

No it's not server problems - it's certain highly influential people that want to shut down his site because they were getting too close to the truth. :shh:

HERE's an Update on GEI

THE PROBLEM seems to be that: Invision has suddenly decided that they want to MIGRATE GEI hosting from the old system.

Instead of letting my know in advance, they have suddenly imposed a new bandwidth limit, where there was none before. In their own words:

"There is no error in bandwidth calculation. The recent visitors log shows that both Google and Yahoo are indexing your site, and rapidly. That's where the bandwidth hit occurred. ...In order to get your site back online, you would need to purchase additional bandwidth. That can be done in your client area. Click "Purchases" on the left, then click your hosting package on the right. On the next screen is a button to buy bandwidth.

The other option would be to switch your current Hosting plan to one of the new ones that we offer."

This so unbelievable. There was much more traffic on GEI a few months ago, and the bandwidth limit was never hit. And Invision has refused to give me the data backing up their claim. So I must believe that they simply want to squeeze more money out of the site.

I think the time has come to investigate other hosting options.

I have been very nervous about doing this, because it is unfamiliar ground, and I am concerned that something would happen which would endanger the future of the site. But it seems that I will need to look more closely into this - since Invision seems to show little interest in treating GEI like a valued client.

Trying to find a way to get GEI back up within a few hours - if not sooner
== ==

Perhaps my complaining worked !

Invision is now offering me a new plan at the same cost, which may eliminate the bandwidth problem.

I have authorised them to go ahead and make the change - and that may get GEI back up, before I awake tomorrow
